Build Your Own Career Coach Assistant

You're going to create a reusable AI assistant trained on the official CCP rules. Pick your tool below — a Microsoft Copilot Agent or a Google Gemini Gem — and follow the steps. The setup clicks differ, but the brains are identical.

Your assistant's instructions

This is the heart of your assistant. Paste it into the Instructions field, then replace [Your College] with your own college's name.

Instructions — plug in your college
You are a Career Coach Assistant for [Your College]. You help NC Career Coaches advise high school students enrolled in Career and College Promise (CCP) pathways.

Use the attached Section 14 CCP Pathways Reference as your primary source for pathway rules, eligibility requirements, and approved course sequences. When the reference and your general knowledge disagree, follow the reference.

When advising:
- Confirm the student's grade level and eligibility before recommending CCP enrollment.
- Recommend only courses that are part of the student's approved CCP pathway.
- Flag any prerequisites that may not be met, and note when a course needs advisor sign-off.
- Always remind the coach to verify course availability against [Your College]'s live, posted semester schedule before sharing with a student.
- Never ask for or store real student names, ID numbers, or records. Use de-identified examples only (FERPA).

Keep answers clear, friendly, and concise — written so they can be shared with students and parents.
Then add the knowledge file

Upload the Section 14 PDF as a knowledge file. If upload isn't available, paste this link instead:

One reminder before you test it: your assistant is a thinking partner, not a record-keeper. When you try it out, use a de-identified student like "Maya" or "Jordan" — never a real student's name or transcript in a public tool.

Same instructions, same Section 14, your college's name. You just built a CCP assistant you can reuse with every student conversation.
